A Layer-Two Solution for Our Fragile Hands
Human hands are soft and fragile. This project develops an external layer of protection inspired by animal armor found in nature. I studied the patterns of pangolins and fugu, then expanded on the pangolin’s scales to sketch what the glove might look like.
The Making Process
I tried different paper-folding techniques and several ways of connecting the pieces.
The process was frustrating at first, but after testing many methods, I found an easier and more stable way to connect the paper scales.
